Question by Sinner: Are you going to boycott the new Star Trek movie?
I am because they asked Leonard Nimoy to appear, but they refused William Shatner.
I think they should find a role for any remaining original actor/actress before it is too late.
I will however find a free bootleg to watch, but I will never spend a penny on it’s release as I do buy other new release movies for their full cost.

‘Star Trek 2′ Will Be 3D and Maybe IMAX

Speaking to MTV about his upcoming Star Trek 2, director J.J. Abrams revealed that his next film’s lens flares will fly off the screen and probably making you go blind through the magic of 3D. Though he isn’t planning to shoot in 3D, he’ll be using the process that’s sometimes terrible, sometimes acceptable, and always unnecessary: post-production 3D conversion, which Abrams promises will be “good” and “high-end” if still one dimension behind Star Trek: The Experience’s Borg Invasion 4-D. With his Mission: Impossible successor Brad Bird shooting parts of Ghost Protocol in IMAX, Abrams is also reportedly looking at shooting some scenes from the next Star Trek in the novelty-sized format. Said Abrams:
“We were talking about [shooting in IMAX] and I would love to do it. IMAX is my favorite format.”

Now Édgar Ramírez Might Be ‘Star Trek’ Villain, Who Is Still Probably Khan

So often with a rejected lover, the dismissal of their unwanted advances sends them straight into the arms of a similar substitute, and with Benicio del Toro rebuffing J.J. Abrams’ offers to join him on a romantic journey through the stars, Abrams already has his eye on another man who knows how to wear a beret.
According to Variety, the director’s top pick for Star Trek 2‘s villain role is now Édgar Ramírez, the Venezuelan actor who last year won praise for playing the lead in Carlos and earlier this year was rumored for the then-unknown, top-secret villain role in The Man of Steel. Similarly, the exact evil part Ramírez is now rumored for is also still unknown, though it’s heavily rumored to be a reprisal of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan‘s wrathful titular villain.
Spanish actor Jordi Mollà is also supposedly being eyed as a back-up, which also strongly hints at Khan: the original portrayer of the villain, Ricardo Montalbán, was himself Mexican, and to J.J. Abrams, any dude who speaks Spanish is Mexican enough for him. He said that, verbatim, when I asked him what Lost was about.
