At Disney’s annual shareholder meeting today, talk turned to Star Wars, as shareholder meetings so often will, derailing them into Special Edition validity arguments. Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger didn’t reveal a lot in the call–not even confirming the widespread news of Adam Driver’s villain casting–but here’s what he reportedly did let loose.
- We can probably look forward to an end to Star Wars casting rumors within the next month or so, so at least there’s that. The film is starting production in May, primarily in London’s Pinewood Studios.
- Like the first film, and television’s Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, Episode VII will be led by “a trio of new young leads.”
- On that note, the film will logically be set about 30 years after the events of 1983’s Return of the Jedi. Prepare for an Ewok village that’s unrecognizably gentrified.
In case you missed it during the Super Bowl: here’s the trailer for 24: Live Another Day, the latest in Jack Bauer’s saga of day-in-the-life adventures. Like Star Trek: Into Cumberbatch, this time the terrorism has moved to London, and like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, now Kiefer Sutherland is a snarling dude protecting an extreme haircut and make-up from danger. But just give him a day or so. He’ll yell and shoot his way out of this.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx are reportedly attached to co-star again, this time without the unifying bond of forced human bondage, in Warner Bros. adaptation of the upcoming crime novel Mean Business On North Ganson Street. DiCaprio will play a police detective characterized in an early scene when a man reports the death of his beautiful wife, to which DiCaprio responds that she was just a hooker running off with his money–a pretty out-of-line comment unless she really looked like a greedy hooker. The aftermath of the remark is tragic and gets Det. DiCaprio transferred to the violent town of Victory, Missouri, where he’s partnered with another asshole: Jamie Foxx, a detective demoted for brutality. Classic buddy cop pairing of
uptight, by-the-books white guy and his loose cannon black partner two sociopaths. Should be fun.
Stepping out for some modeling duties, Naomi Watts did a promotional shoot in Barcelona, Spain on Friday (November 30).
The blonde bombshell dazzled in a shimmery blue dress with a high slide slit, as she carried a giant panda and suited men carried a load of brightly wrapped packages behind her during the work for El Corte Ingles.
In related news, the Academy Award-nominated actress will be presented with the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 5.
Her latest movie, “Movie 43,” which also stars Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman, is slated to hit theaters on January 25.

While overseas, the supermodel-entrepreneur accepted the InStyle Australia Women of Style 2012 Award. Showing her appreciation for Aussie fans, Miranda took to her Twitter page before leaving writing, “Thank you Australia for being incredible. I’m on http://www.facebook.com/koraorganics if you want to come say hi.”

Clearly pleased with the accolade, Miranda told press covering the event, “I have really put my heart and soul into (it), … so to be recognized for that is really special for me.”
She also shared her thoughts on what comprises a woman of style in her mind, saying, “I feel that means a woman is confident in who she is and she expresses herself through the clothes she wears.”
Making for an emotional afternoon in front of the cameras, the cast of “Glee” were busy putting together material for the season three finale in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 9).
Lea Michele (Rachel) shared an embrace with Cory Monteith (Finn) before boarding a train and leaving town with all of her classmates gathering together and waving goodbye.
Tweeting about the experience, Miss Michele wrote, “On set now shooting. It’s my second to last day of filming season 3! Tomorrows gonna be so sad!”
Among the cast members partaking in the shoot were Darren Criss, Matthew Morrison, Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris, Jayma Mays and Dianna Agron, who posted a message upon day’s end, reading, “I don’t know all that is to come, but I know what a day like this means. Four years of love, light & support. To the cast, crew & creators. And to all of you that have shown your love along the way. We just can’t thank you enough. This has always been a very surreal experience. X”
While the third season finale will be airing on May 22, fans of the hit Fox show can look forward to a special two hour installment of “Glee” this Tuesday, May 15th beginning at 8/7c.
Featuring special guest star Lindsay Lohan, the synopsis for “Props/Nationals” via the series’ website reads: “As the countdown to graduation continues, the kids of New Directions prepare a high-concept routine for Nationals. When Tina bumps her head, the world of New Directions is turned upside down in her eyes. Then, the New Directions perform at Nationals for a celebrity guest judge (Lohan).”
Having made her way back home after attending Kanye West’s runway show at Paris Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian was hard work in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday afternoon (March 8).
The 31-year-old brunette beauty strutted her stuff for the cameras as she sported a pair of black and green ensembles while cranking out a Midori Liquor photo shoot.
Once finished up, Kim, who’s the spokesperson for Midori Green, happily tweeted, “That’s a wrap! Midori shoot is done!”
Miss Kardashian’s booze peddling efforts come after she found herself as the subject of another off the mark story from OK! magazine, which claimed the E! hottie is in the process of adopting a child.
“It’s all top secret, but the adoption is already underway. Kim is ready. She’s made inquiries and gotten information. Now she just has to decide where she wants the baby to come from,” claimed the tabloid, after which a family insider has told press that the report is “not true” and “ridiculous”.
