Her Lifetime remake of the 1989 film “Steel Magnolias” is set to debut later this year, and the multi-talented Jill Scott nabbed herself a little early promotional exposure by covering the October 2012 issue of Essence magazine.
The 40-year-old Grammy-winner looked stunning in a grey suit jacket and chunky jeweled necklace front page while dishing about everything from her favorite accessory to what she’s looking for in a man.
Highlights from Miss Scott’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Essence!
On her dream man:
“In my ideal world, he has to be doing what he loves, whether he makes as much as I do or not, I need someone with some kids, somebody who works hard for them, loves them and is an active presence in their lives.”
On what she finds attractive:
“I need to be able to pray with my man, I like a man who smells good. Puts on cologne; lotions his body. It keeps me wanting. I like feeling that way.”
On her favorite accessory:
“For me, hair is an accouterment. Hair is jewelry. It’s an accessory. Tomorrow I may want a wig down to my butt and I’m gonna rock it, and the next day I may want a big afro and I’m gonna rock that too.…”

“Top Gun” Director Tony Scott Commits Suicide By Jumping Off Bridge
Making for a tragic start to the week in the entertainment world, director Tony Scott reportedly took his own life in Long Beach, California on Sunday (August 19).
The 68-year-old, who’s best known for helming the hit Tom Cruise film “Top Gun,” is said to have committed suicide by jumping off of the Vincent Thomas bridge.
Reports add that Mr Scott’s body was recovered from the water four hours later by emergency crews, at which time he was immediately pronounced as deceased.
The brother of fellow director Ridley Scott is also behind big films including “Beverly Hills Cop II,” “Days of Thunder,” “Crimson Tide” and “Enemy of the State” while having recently announced that a “Top Gun” sequel was in the works.

Bret Easton Ellis Wants Scott Disick To Play Patrick Bateman in ‘American Psycho’ Remake

When word broke this week that American Psycho was inexplicably getting a modern-day remake already, what most people, including myself, didn’t know is that the book’s author Bret Easton Ellis is not only on board with the remake but is legitimately asking for Scott Disick of Kardashian fame to play Patrick Bateman. No, really. Via Read More …
Ridley Scott Has More Films He’s Pretending He’ll Make

Ridley Scott has promised us an Alien sort-of-prequel with his upcoming Prometheus, and he’s also promised us a future that will include more Blade Running and a Monopoly movie, and now he would like us to believe he will also make some films with the main cast of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. In 3D, naturally.
The 73-year-old producer/director has reportedly attached Angelina Jolie to star in Gertrude Bell, a biopic Scott first began setting up back in March but that we quickly forgot about once all this Blade Runner crap came up. Jolie would play the title character, an important woman whose Jolie-esque work abroad earned her the title “the female Lawrence of Arabia.” Just as Jolie’s continued unsmiling work with pistols, historical figures, and the Scott brothers will soon earn her the title “the female Denzel Washington.”
Meanwhile, Ridley Scott has also been shopping around a different fact-based film he’d like to make with Gerard Butler. This one would cast Butler as Simon Mann, the former British army officer who, in 2004, attempted an Equatorial Guinea coup d’état. Robert Edwards is attached to write the script about the attempt, which ended before it really got going when Mann was arrested picking up weapons in Zimbabwe. Given what Machine Gun Preacher‘s $ 528k domestic gross tells us about audience desire to see Gerard Butler play a real-life character involved with African firearms, it’s probably a good thing Ridley Scott will never get around to making this film.
Kristin Cavallari Slams Scott Disick Cheating Rumors
She’s no stranger to tabloid rumors, but Kristin Cavallari has definitively denied the recent reports that she had an affair with Scott Disick.
The former “Hills” hottie declared, “It’s 100 percent not true,” adding that her on-again boyfriend Jay Cutler “didn’t believe the report for one second.”
Miss Cavallari was also disappointed that the Kardashian/Disick camp never tried to set the record straight themselves.
“I just think, what convenient timing for them with their show premiering next week. With everything that’s going on for Kim, I feel like they’re trying to take the heat off her.”
“When there’s a big story like that, they always call you and ask if you want to comment and clearly none of them denied it. It’s disrespectful to me and Jay, and I think it just says a lot about their character.”
