First Poster from ‘District 9′ Director’s ‘Elysium’

elysium-poster-thumb.jpg

District 9‘s Neill Blomkamp returns to sci-fi, just as Matt Damon returns to selling films with the back of his head, in this August’s Elysium. Here’s the film’s first poster, depicting a future dystopia in which Damon has become Vin Diesel, and Vin Diesel has become a muscular digital camera. Or maybe it’s about something else. We’ll find out tomorrow when the first trailer debuts. In the meantime, here’s the poster:

‘Oblivion’ Poster Goes Big, Except for Tom Cruise

oblivion-poster-thumb.jpg

Announcing that a trailer is coming Sunday, Universal has on IGN debuted the first poster for Oblivion, TRON Legacy director Joseph Kosinski’s sci-fi film about Tom Cruise being a marginally more-humanlike WALL-E, collecting and repairing around a post-apocalyptic Earth and eventually meeting a lady. But as you can see below, despite Cruise’s presence, in this first look at the film, it seems the spectacle is the real star. Or, to be more specific, the unused apocalyptic backdrops purchased at discount from Roland Emmerich are the real star, as they actually have a better domestic box office record and test as more relatable than Cruise.

He may allow himself to be handcuffed, but Superman will not let a rubber suit restrain his abs in this new Man of Steel poster that strongly hints at the film’s new, darker take on the superhero. This Superman is totally going to frown. Full one-sheet below.

That nightmarish winged-primate family tree debuted last week was but a portion of the trippy, lurid Oz: The Great and Powerful imagery to come. Final “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ International Poster Revealed

Giving eager fans yet another taste of excitement before the theatrical debut, Summit Entertainment released the final international poster for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”

The cover photo was revealed to the public on Friday (October 5) while featuring all three of the film franchise’s favorites – Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner – with the tagline adding further hype by simply reading, “The epic finale that will live forever.”

The worldwide pic follows on the heels of the MPAA’s PG-13 rating – assigned due to violent sequences, disturbing images, some sensuality, and partial nudity.

Directed by Bill Condon, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ is described as follows: “After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans, in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.”

The official date big screen premiere is scheduled for November 16, but there will be 10 p.m. screenings available on November 15 for those eager fans lucky enough to nab tickets.

‘Last Stand’ Poster: Schwarzenegger Has Several Cool, Manly Personal Effects

last-stand-poster-thumb.jpg

Does The Last Stand have Arnold Schwarzenegger in it? Is he a sheriff? Does that sheriff have a fucking huge gun, and a sports car that seems a little over-extravagant? In his town? On his watch? All of these nagging questions have been answered with the film’s first poster, just debuted at IGN. Find the remaining answers below.
