Cheating always hurts, but the impact of Kristen Stewart‘s infidelities may be deeper than what was originally thought. A source revealed to the Mirror that Robert Pattinson was “weeks away from proposing” to his “Twilight” co-star.

The insider claims “Robert hoped to marry Kristen and was making preparations to spring a proposal before she admitted cheating.” Indeed, the 26-year-old Brit was preparing for a life with her as he apparently “bought the house in Los Angeles to be their home and saw them staying there for a long time.”

How is the much-adored actor dealing with the split? The source reveals, “Rob is angry – he’s left the mansion and not spoken to her since. They have exchanged heated text messages only.”

The pair might want to find closure soon as they will be reunited at the premiere of the final installment of the Twilight Saga, “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” in November.

With her new movie “Cosmopolis” set to hit theaters on a limited basis beginning August 17th, Robert Pattinson garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the September 2012 issue of BlackBook magazine.

The 26-year-old “Twilight” actor looked ever-the heartthrob in the accompanying spread while dishing about everything from his all-liquid diet to his less than stellar driving skills.

On his poor driving skills:
“I learned by people crashing into me. The first time anyone said anything about my being famous was when I tried to buy a car a few years ago. It was an ’89 BMW convertible for $ 1,000 I found on Craigslist. I went out to the hills to take it on a test drive and, of course, almost crashed. A few days later I went back to pick it up. I had said I was an actor and the guy had looked me up. When I went back, he said,’Dude, do you realize you’re #2 on IMDB?’ I thought, ‘Shit, now I can’t ask for the 200 bucks off.’”

On the Cannes Film Festival:
“I lost my mind. I was preparing myself to fight with 1,500 people. I was so amped up. I was just kind of running around with my pants down and my shoelaces untied and, amazingly, not falling. Until this…Most people get 15 years of doing movies nobody sees. Now I’m at Cannes.”

On choosing words wisely:
“You try to say things in the perfect way but you know unless you say something stupid, from which people will make you look like a dick, you’re not going to have sound bites. And if you don’t say anything stupid, someone’s going to make something up anyways.”

On his all-liquid diet:
“I’m on an all-liquid diet. I had to be shirtless for a photo shoot, so I asked a nutritionist what’s a diet in which you can still drink as much as you want. She said a liquid diet.”

Offering up a rare glimpse of themselves together outside of work and promotional efforts, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were side-by-side in Hollywood, California on Thursday night.

Sure to set the web afire as avid fans analyze each and every detail down to facial expressions and body language, the “Twilight” co-star couple happened to be enjoying a date night at The Hotel Cafe to catch a performance by guitar playing pal, Bobby Long.

After the show, Pattinson led the way to the car while guiding his lady out to their ride by her hand rather than employing the typical paparazzi separation tactic.

The date night comes as Rob and Kristen’s “Breaking Dawn” castmate Jackson Rathbone spoke with press at Comic-Con about his lovebird co-stars.

“It’s really cute. It’s endearingly awkward at moments, to be honest,” Jackson dished about how the two act around one another, adding, “Maybe that’s just off camera…”

Rathbone finished by saying, “It’s [going to] look great, it’s [going to] be great. They’re so sweet. They’re all fantastic actors.”

Eager to run free of the weight of a piggy-backed Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson will follow up his Twilight career with roles in which he will chase both Saddam Hussein and whoever who stole his car, assuming those are different people.

The Team Edward captain has officially signed on to star in Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire’s Mission: Blacklist, a psychological thriller written by Band of Brothers writer-producer Erik Jendresen from the book of the same name. Pattinson would play real-life military interrogator Eric Maddox, who headed the capture of Iraqi president and popular South Park character Saddam Hussein. Preferred Content’s Ross M. Dinerstein is producing, and describes the film as “a gripping, edge of your seat thriller,” which definitely sounds exciting and gripping.

Pattinson also just been cast as the lead in Animal Kingdom writer-director David Michôd’s next, The Rover. There he’ll play a character named Reynolds, “who relentless pursues the men who stole his car through the wild and rough Australian outback.” Guy Pearce co-stars in the film, presumably playing the friend who gives Robert Pattinson a ride to relentless pursuit, sparing him the shame of having to show up to relentless pursuit on the bus, in front of all his co-pursuers.

Drawing an end to what was quite the weekend, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted trekking through the crowds at the 2012 Coachella Valeey Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California on Sunday night (April 22).

Joined by a few friends, the “Breaking Dawn” co-stars were side-by-side at the Empire Polo Club venue, but quickly split apart from one another upon a paparazzo’s arrival.

As for Coachellla’s second weekend closing lineup, Rob and Kristen were treated to performances by acts including Florence + the Machine, The Hives, At The Drive-In and a night-capping effort by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg.

Having been situated at the annual outdoor celebration for the past few days, Pattinson and Stewart reportedly had quite the romantic moment on Saturday night.

Of the scene, a source told Celebuzz, ”They were kissing and holding hands during Radiohead, swaying and singing along to parts [of the songs.].”
