You Can’t Play with Your New G.I. Joes Until Next March

gi-joe-retaliation-trailer-1.jpg

So much escalating excitement over the slow realization, “oh, they made another G.I. Joe… with Bruce Willis?” and now it won’t see a payoff for another ten months. Paramount has delayed G.I. Joe: Retaliation until March 29, 2013 so that they have time to make it more 3D, and thus make a bunch more money off it.

As a studio executive explained to Deadline, “We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally.” Lest anyone worry that adding post-production 3D as an afterthought is somehow a poor decision, the executive added, “Jim Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out,” which is a fair point. What is G.I. Joe: Retaliation if not Titanic set against the historical drama of The Rock’s pecs?

Jessica Alba Covers Los Angeles Confidential March 2012

She’s been long regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful people, and Jessica Alba brings her magnetic ways to the forefront as cover girl of the March 2012 issue of Los Angeles Confidential.

The 30-year-old “Sin City” star offered up a pondering pose for the magazine’s front page while clad in a blush pearlized-silk cardigan with ostrich-feather collar from Ralph Lauren.

Meanwhile, highlights from Miss Alba’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Los Angeles Confidential!

On her penchant for fashion:
“Fashion is part of the job. It’s fun to go out and see what everybody’s wearing. Some things really work, and some don’t. And then there are some people, like Kate Moss, who can wear anything.”

On juggling work and family life:
“It’s not perfect. I’m constantly feeling I should be spending more time at home. I installed a kids’ corner in the office, and the baby is really easy right now. But every day is evolving and changing. If I’m not going to be home all day, I know I’ll be home at night.”

On her evolving style preferences:
“I didn’t use to wear a lot of color. I guess I’ve been more adventurous with my style and clothes choices since I’ve become a mother. It doesn’t feel as heavy or as big a deal. Before, I was incredibly bashful and shy. When I was younger, I was really uncomfortable in dresses and high heels or anything like that. Over the years, I’ve embraced a more feminine side.”

On changing after becoming a parent:
“I feel like I’ve finally come into my own and become the person I always should have been, or that I always wanted to be. I feel more grounded, free and comfortable in my own skin than I ever have. The paradigm just shifted completely to my family.”

Nicole Richie Covers Ocean Drive March 2012

She’s gearing up for the March 13th launch of her new show “Fashion Star,” and as part of the promotions Nicole Richie took over cover duties for the March 2012 issue of Ocean Drive.

The 30-year-old struck a range of poses for the Robert Ashcroft shot spread while opening up to the magazine about family life and her personal growth since the “Simple Life” days.

Highlights from Miss Richie’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Ocean Drive!

On her husband, Joel Madden:
“Joel and I are complete polar opposites. He’s from southern Maryland. He’s very family-oriented. He grew up with four brothers and sisters. When we met, I was definitely going through a difficult time with my family, and having him have such a strong foundation really opened the doors and brought both of our families together.”

On her two children, Sparrow and Harlow:
“My daughter looks exactly like me, and she has Joel’s personality. She’s very careful. She doesn’t make a move without fully thinking about what the consequences would be and what that means. Sparrow looks exactly like Joel and has my personality. He’s just wild. I’m in for the ride. He’s two, and we’ve had broken fingers, we’ve been to the hospital. You cannot take your eye off of him for a second. He is just a full, free spirit.”

On her roller coaster past:
“You have to remember that I was 20 years old. I don’t know anybody who can look back at who they were at 20 and say, ‘I’m the exact same person.’ It’s all about evolving and growing. Who we are in our 30s is obviously very different than who we are in our 20s…Also, keep in mind that my life didn’t start in shooting The Simple Life. For the public, obviously, that was the first time they saw me, but this has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have fond memories of that time. I was 20, 21 years old and I was doing a show with my best friend and we didn’t really have to do much. We were just being ourselves—and playing it up for the cameras, obviously—but the show was very safe for me to do, in the sense that cameras were never in my home. They were never shooting my family. It was more about stepping into other people’s realities, as opposed to the cameras coming into our realities.”

On her career in fashion:
“I’ve been getting ready for this since I was 16 years old. When I actually met with partners, (clothing manufacturers) Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum, and they asked for ideas, I said, ‘I have plenty!’ I had two huge folders of inspirations tears to show where I saw the line going, what I wanted to start with first, and where I wanted to take it eventually. This has been in my head for a very long time. With Winter Kate, we started out so small. It’s taken me four seasons even to expand into doing leathers, laser cuts, furs. I have goals for House of Harlow and for Winter Kate: Ultimately, this will be a lifestyle brand. I’m going to do home furnishings and flatware, everything. (But) right now my focus is my family, and everything comes second to that.”

Katy Perry Transforms Herself for Interview Magazine’s March Issue

The March 2012 cover of Interview Magazine leaked online earlier today (February 27), and it revealed a dramatically different looking Katy Perry on its front page.

The “Part Of Me” singer shed her usually playful, girly self for the black and white spread, unveiling a very Amy Winehouse-like seduction in the pose.

In the snapshot, the 27-year-old is dons a blinged out bra top with long black gloves and dangling diamond earrings.

After offering up the sneak peek of their latest celeb-fronted issue, the mag released a statement about it on their site, reading, “If you haven’t already heard, Katy Perry is our March covergirl. We’re pretty excited (!), especially as she’s interviewed by one of our favorite comedians, Kristen Wiig. Above is a sneak peek of Katy’s cover, shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Karl Templer. More to come later in the week…”

Lily Collins Covers NYLON March 2012

With her Snow White film “Mirror Mirror” just over a month away from release, Lily Collins finds herself featured on the cover of the March 2012 issue of NYLON magazine.

The daughter of musician Phil Collins pretties up the pages in a Stephen Walker shot spread while opening up about the impact her famous father has had on her career, among other topics.

Highlights from Miss Collins’ interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to NYLON!

On her initial response when going for acting gigs:
“When I was initially meeting with agencies, I remember one of them asked me, ‘What makes you so special? There are tons of sons and daughters and nieces and nephews of [celebrities] – you don’t have anything! Come back and we’ll talk.’ And I was like, ‘You don’t get me at all!’ Because I’ve never come from that.”

On being labeled due to her famous father:
“A lot of people’s perception is that I don’t have to work my way to get in a room because someone is always interested in the last name, but I always say that personality opens doors, but character keeps them open. Everyone can have something special to get them in, but once you’re in, it’s sort of like, ‘Okay, so?’ I felt like I needed to be completely confident within myself and know what I wanted to go after and what I was passionate about before I put myself out there.”

On her happiness over landing the role of Snow White:
“Growing up in the English countryside, I would go out into the fields and create my own stories, and I would run around as if I was in a movie. That’s why, for me, playing Snow White was a crazy dream come true, because I’ve always been someone who would read books and then go and make a movie in my head.”
