Taking time away from filming the second season of her hit series “Smash,” Katharine McPhee scored herself a high-profile gig the Beauty & Style issue of Allure magazine.

The 28-year-old singer/actress donned an array of stylish ensembles for the flirty Norman Jean Roy shot spread lining the pages while dishing about everything from her NBC program to being a Los Angeles native.

On not appearing to be a Los Angeles native:
“I’ve always been told that I don’t seem like a Los Angeles native. I think that comes from my family and from the people in my circle. It’s important to be polite—to make someone feel like they’re the only person in the room.”

On her post-Idol career plotting:
“There had been so many parts that I didn’t get or came so close to getting. After a pilot I was in didn’t get picked up, I remember crying that nothing’s really clicking, nothing’s ever going to happen.”

On her ‘Smash’ character’s evolution:
“In some of the later episodes, we get to see Karen stick up for herself and have some strong interactions with people instead of being meek. I really relate to that, because I see myself as someone who’s finally grown into being more sure of her thoughts and opinions.”

The March 2012 cover of Interview Magazine leaked online earlier today (February 27), and it revealed a dramatically different looking Katy Perry on its front page.

The “Part Of Me” singer shed her usually playful, girly self for the black and white spread, unveiling a very Amy Winehouse-like seduction in the pose.

In the snapshot, the 27-year-old is dons a blinged out bra top with long black gloves and dangling diamond earrings.

After offering up the sneak peek of their latest celeb-fronted issue, the mag released a statement about it on their site, reading, “If you haven’t already heard, Katy Perry is our March covergirl. We’re pretty excited (!), especially as she’s interviewed by one of our favorite comedians, Kristen Wiig. Above is a sneak peek of Katy’s cover, shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Karl Templer.
