Marvel Really Wants To Get Gwyneth Paltrow in an Iron Man Suit

Speaking at Comic Con’s Iron Man panel–at least in some sense answering the question, “Is there any way to get Gwyneth Paltrow in an outfit more farcical than her $ 90 goop t-shirt?”–Jon Favreau and Marvel production president Kevin Feige let slip their apparently long-held interest in getting Paltrow’s Pepper Potts in an Iron Man suit.
In the comics, Potts eventually gets her own For Her edition of Tony Stark’s armor, and it seems the film Potts nearly has, too, with Feige reportedly saying (via), “Everyone at this table thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world to see Pepper get in the suit at some point.”
“We almost did it a few times; we talked about it a lot. I think we all share your enthusiasm for that, and we all want to see Gwyneth kick a little ass,” Favreau added, mistakenly thinking Comic Con attendees are just nerdier Chris Martins.
Given their word choice and the fact they were willing to talk about it at all, it doesn’t sound like Tony Stark’s unnervingly-hollow-voiced assistant will be suiting up for the third Iron Man, but then again, reports denied Ben Kingsley would playing Mandarin before Marvel turned around and confirmed it last weekend, so you never know. Maybe we’ll yet see Gwyneth Paltrow with a layer of metal covering her affectations. If not, well, then I guess we’ll just see her in some $ 200 jeans.
Guy Pearce Will Be Smart Guy Again in ‘Iron Man 3′

Guy Pearce’s fake TED talk as a genius in the field of synthetic humanoids apparently has him sought after in the field of fictional bio-electronics. Now he’s going to do something like that in Iron Man 3.
According to Variety, Pearce is in final talks to play geneticist Aldrich Killian in the superhero sequel, set to be directed by Shane Black.
In Warren Ellis’s six-issue Extremis comic storyline, for which Iron Man 3 is said to heavily rely, Killian is one of the geneticists who invents the “Extremis,” the totally extreme virus meant to rewrite genetic code and make mankind stronger more efficient. When Tony Stark is “infected,” it somehow merges his Iron Man technology with his organic body, and then other nerdy shit happens, and then that becomes a movie in theaters May 3, 2013. In the full plot, the virus also gets in the hands of terrorists, but please, don’t worry about that. If you do, then they’ve already won.

More ‘Avengers’ Clips: Thor Fights Iron Man, Fury and Loki Discuss Cages

For those that want their first viewing of The Avengers to be a largely familiar experience, Disney-Marvel is going out of their way to make that a possibility. As part of their plan to slowly leak the film in two-minute pieces, studio has just released two more clips, these ones depicting a verbal war between Nick Fury and Loki and an actual war, with lightning bolts and head-butts and shit, between Iron Man and Thor.
