Kim, Kanye, Khloe & Kris Draw a HUGE Crowd at DASH Opening

The Kardashian-Klan was out in full force today (July 13) at the opening of their Los Angeles, California DASH store with Kim Kardashian and rapper beau Kanye West leading the way.

Also turning up for the big occasion were Khloe Kardashian and family matriarch Kris Jenner, with the reality family all making fashionable appearances to support their growing chain of boutiques.

A crowd gathered outside the DASH store to welcomingly embrace the Kardashians to their new home on Melrose, with Khloe appreciably tweeting, “Thank you to everyone who came to DASH today!!!!”

Meanwhile, Kris took to Twitter to show how proud she is of her three eldest daughters, writing, “@dashboutique on melrose new store is GORGEOUS! Congrats @KourtneyKardash @KhloeKardashian. @KimKardashian so proud of all the Dash Dolls!”

While Kourtney could not make the event due to giving birth to daughter Penelope Scotland Disick days earlier, her sisters and mother brought their star power to make opening day a complete success.

The Indie Crowd Will Get Their Own ‘New Year’s Eve’ of Sorts

fleck-boden.jpg

Though the scars are still visible from Valentine’s Day, director Garry Marshall still continues to flog us with his romantic-comedy cat o’ nine tails, and soon enough we’ll be wincing to the lashes of another rom-com pile-on when New Year’s Eve comes out later this year. Love, Actually has already covered Christmas, though, and eventually Marshall is going to run out of romantic holidays to loosely wrap his rom-com scourges around, and so the time has come to find a new basis for showcasing a multitude of mostly-white Manhattan relationships. Thankfully, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden may have the solution: how about working around hate mail? The Fleck-Boden writing and directing team–who last collaborated on our most precious mental institution romance, It’s Kind of a Funny Story–have revealed that their next project will be a film called Hate Mail, which “will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.” At last, we’ll have an alternate universe version of the romantic-comedy pile-on, a world in which the ending isn’t entirely happy, Ryan Gosling is Ashton Kutcher, Parker Posey is established veteran Robert De Niro, and Katherine Heigl stands outside it all, quietly scratching at the glass and unsure why she feels such a desperate need to be in a mutually-antagonistic relationship.

‘Faces in the Crowd’ Trailer: Milla Jovovich Can’t Recognize Features, and Thus Cannot Identify the Serial Killer Only She Has Seen

faces-in-the-crowd-trailer-intl.jpg

I’ll give Faces in the Crowd this much: it’s rare to see such single-minded enthusiasm for a a clearly-stumbled-upon-online disorder outside of a television crime/medical procedural. In the film, Milla Jovovich plays a woman attacked by a serial killer on her way home one night. She survives the attempted murder, but there’s one problem: now she got a bad cast of the prosopagnosia! Or, as the doctor more plainly puts it, “What you’re experiencing: FACE BLINDNESS.” Ut oh, Resident Evil, now how are you going to identify the man still planning to kill you at some point in the near future? And how will you recognize your own face when it shows up amongst the video-on-demand options in a month or so? Clues ahead in the first trailer for: Faces in the Crowd.

Faces in the Crowd comes to us from writer/director Julien Magnat, whose congratulatory IMDb bio opens with the promise, “Julien Magnat is completely fluent in spoken and written English.” So before you start railing on this, saying that the script sounds like it was run through a translator, don’t make yourself sound a fool: this guy totally knows both spoken and written English.

Peter Jackson Has the Nerve To Show Us More Dwarves, Sarah Palin Can’t Draw the Midnight Crowd, and More…

hobbit-balin-dwalin.jpg

- Look, if I’d have known that when I started posting Hobbit dwarves last Thursday that it would become a week-long project of small, bearded men, I wouldn’t have even bothered. But we’ve come this far–and TIME seems to think this particular photo is important enough to consider news–so here you go: Balin and Dwalin.

- Gunnar Hansen, the man who played Leatherface in 1974 original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, will reportedly have a cameo in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D–but this time without the Leatherface mask, so we can finally get a real taste of what Gunnar Hansen is all about.

- If you were wondering, only one person, a reporter, attended an Orange County 12:01 AM showing of the Sarah Palin propaganda documentary, The Undefeated. What were all those theater lines for, then?

- With Jonah Hill and Mark Wahlberg reportedly planning to star in a Lethal Weapon-esque buddy action-comedy called The Good Time Gang, Justin Timberlake is attached to star in Fully Automatic, which is also described as Lethal Weapon-like buddy action-comedy. Every No Strings Attached needs its Friends with Benefits, as the saying goes. (via)

Lady Gaga: Nude-Suited Lollapalooza Crowd Surfer

Always keeping things interesting, Lady Gaga was in party mode as she partook in the first day of the 2010 Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, Illinois on Friday (August 6).

Held in Grant Park, the “Alejandro” singer surprised her many fans as she stepped out in a see-through bodysuit to go crowd surfing at the BMI stage as Semi-Precious Weapons performed.

As for her night-ending set, Gaga treated the crowd to an energetic show while speaking to the crowd much more than has been usual during her never-ending Monster Ball tour.

Among the highlights, the 24-year-old became quite emotional before a version of “Speechless,” during which she praised her father for being her inspiration – telling a story about how he “kicked off her music career by helping her carry her piano up a long staircase at their New York apartment when she was a kid.”
