I believe the band is Sleater-Kinney from NW USA – a three female rock band. Saw this commercial myself this evening and was floored that they were playing that band. Sleater-Kinney is/was one of my favorite bands, unfortunately they do not play together anymore (heard rumors they occasionally together and tour). Fantastic in concert and saw them many times in the late 90′s at First Avenue in Minneapolis.

Question by Lindsey: Is sandra bullock a Christian like Leigh Anne Tuohy?
Christianity is a big part in my life. I recently saw the movie “The Blind Side” and i loved it. As soon as I got home i watched some interviews and on one of them, Sandra Bullock says that she questions people that are born again Christians when she first started the movie but she didn’t really say how she feels about it now. So i was just wondering if you guys have heard anything. Thank you.

i looked up some stuff and couldn’t find anything. guessing she is one of those people who believe in God but don’t really have a following or belong to a church. but i really want to know because she is my favorite actress and im a strong roman catholic. sorry tell me if you find anything out?

Question by Awe: What do you think would happen if a bunch of Christian missionaries went to Pandora to convert the Na’vi?
Wouldn’t that make a hilarious movie? Or at least an interesting sequel?
I’m referring to the Avatar movie.
Do you think the Christians could successfully proselytize and indoctrinate the Na’vi? Or maybe the Christians would see the light and convert to the Na’vi way. I know the Na’vi are not real but I kind of wish they were.

The Na’vi reminded me of many Native American/South American bands…….and just look what Christian missionaries did to us/them. Since joining them wasn’t an option, beating them was.

Director Terrence Malick didn’t make anything for the twenty years between Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, but the suddenly-prolific filmmaker seems determined to make up for all that lost time this decade. He already released The Tree of Life this year, and has a still-untitled Ben Affleck-Rachel McAdams romance and the documentary Voyage of Time in various stages of production. And today, FilmNation Entertainment has announced two new Malick projects they’ll be releasing in the coming years.

The first is called Lawless, and will star Ryan Gosling in the lead, surrounded by an impressive cast that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, and Marley & Me‘s Haley Bennett. For the second film, Knight of Cups, Bale has the lead role, starring with Cate Blanchett (again) and Isabel Lucas. Nothing has been announced in terms of plots, but, you know, expect some kind of plodding, Malicky things–and maybe tarot cards and/or Xena references. The films will be shot back-to-back next year, still giving you plenty of time to mature to the point where you can choose one of these beautiful, contemplative films for adults ahead of whatever Marvel superhero sequel is showing a theater over. Unless Iron Man 3 ends up looking super awesome, naturally.
