Carrie Underwood Receives Artist Achievement Award at the T.J. Martell Foundation Honors Gala

Stepping out for a good cause, Carrie Underwood attended the T.J. Martell Foundation Honors Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Tuesday (October 22).

The “Blown Away” singer looked gorgeous on the red carpet in a short-sleeved, shimmering blue dress with nude heels and a matching clutch.

At the 38th annual event, the 30-year-old songstress was honored with the Artist Achievement Award. According to the organization, the T.J. Martell Foundation is the music industry’s largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.

Unfortunately, the day didn’t start so glamorous for Carrie, as she tweeted, “My morning was going so smoothly…then I stabbed myself in the eye with my mascara wand…now all day people will think I’m winking at them.”

Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” Music Video: Watch Now!

Not letting an abusive relationship get her down, Carrie Underwood debuted her music video for “Blown Away” this evening (July 30).

The 29-year-old country singer’s new clip features an Oz-inspired backdrop that takes a troubled child, surrounded by alcohol and abuse into a much brighter scene inspired by survival.

The blonde beauty constantly hints at the video’s inspiration from the classic 1939 film with images including a darling dog, ruby red heels, and the iconic yellow brick road.

In a special behind-the-scenes video, Miss Underwood explained, “We wanted to create this modern-day, tragic ‘Wizard of Oz’ mini-movie.”

Carrie Underwood’s Lovely London Meet & Greet

Promoting her new album Blown Away, Carrie Underwood was spotted greeting fans and signing copies of her CD at HMV Oxford Street. London, England on Wednesday (June 20).

The “Good Girl” songstress showed off her toned legs in a short and lacy pink dress that she paired with a leather jacket and black peep-toe booties while proudly holding up copies of her just-released album.

Not long after voicing her support for gay marriage, Carrie was the recipient of a ton of backlash, of which she explained to The Associated Press during an interview on Tuesday, “I was asked a difficult question in the last five minutes of an interview and I answered it the best way I knew how, and after that I do what I do and I love making music and I generally try to stay out of any kind of controversy.”

However, the 29-year-old country singer doesn’t really consider herself a role model, admitting, “The role-model word is really scary to me, because no matter what happens in your life, something you do, wear, say, sing, whatever – somebody somewhere is probably not going to like it too well, I just really try hard to do what I do and try to be nice to people and make great music and if people think they can look up to that, that’s wonderful. If not, that’s OK too.”

Along with a full slate of promotional duties in London this week, Carrie is expected to perform at a sold-out show on Thursday at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Carrie Underwood Teases “Good Girl” Single

She’s always looking out for her fans, and Carrie Underwood just posed a video from her studio session for her upcoming album.

The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” songstress took matters into her own hands and video taped a quick snippet of her new single “Good Girl” in the mixing room.

Carrie shared, “I don’t think I’m supposed to do this but I’m so excited about … ‘Good Girl’ I thought I’d give you guys a little teaser because what are they gonna do to me? So here we go.”

“So there it is, very excited. I cannot wait for you to hear the whole thing. It will be coming to a radio near you very soon. I hope you like it!”

Carrie Underwood’s Canine Rescue

She’s known for her kind-hearted ways, so it’s no wonder Carrie Underwood made no hesitation to help two dogs on the median of an interstate highway between Oklahoma and Tennessee.

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer was reportedly heading home to her parents’ house for the holidays when she saw the injured pooches on the side of the road.

Revealing the details on her fan club blog, Underwood wrote, “I had Ace and Penny [Underwood’s own dogs] and a trunk full of luggage and presents in the SUV. When one of the injured dogs started wagging her tail, Underwood hoisted the “limping” and “bloody” pup into the car. The other dog, sadly, had died. “My guess is that the dogs were thrown out of their car by their owners on the highway.”

The concerned country singer immediately rushed the pup (whom she named Stella) to the emergency vet where she got the care necessary for a full recovery.

Once Stella was healed, Carrie’s neighbors adopted the dog and said she could visit from time to time.

“I cried when she walked out the door,” Underwood wrote. “[Husband Mike Fisher] told me not to be a crazy ex-girlfriend about it and stalk them … I can’t help it! She deserves the best life ever!”
