For years Simpsons fans have, bored by debates about the best Lionel Hutz quotes, tried to determine the location of the town of Springfield. Unfortunately for them, Springfield as depicted in The Simpsons is not an actual town, so it’s pretty hard to figure out exactly where it is unless creator Matt Groening just outright tells everyone and–oh, hey, now he’s sort of done that.

Speaking to Smithsonian Magazine, Groening revealed:

Springfield was named after Springfield, Oregon. The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show “Father Knows Best” took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name. I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the U.S. In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, “This will be cool; everyone will think it’s their Springfield.” And they do.

So there you go. It was named after Springfield, Oregon, and otherwise does not exist, because cartoons. Now back to watching 130 Simpsons episodes at once. Because that’s where the real answers lie…

With their fashion empire quickly expanding, the Kardashian sisters most recently struck a sisterly pose for their new swimwear line for Sears.

The sexy snap shows Kim, Kourtney and Khloe all decked out in hot, new swimsuits designed by Bruno Schiavi for the Kardashian Kollection.

With Bruno posting the shot on Facebook, he added a message reading: ”First look at our new Kardashian Kollection Swimwear campaign! The girls look incredible!!!!!”

Recently speaking with Celebuzz about working with the E! reality trio, Schiavi dished, “The great thing about them is that they do have their own personal sense of style. They are very unique in whom they are but at the same time, they do come together as sisters and they to tend to agree on most things because they have the same vision. They really have a passion for fashion.”

She’s fresh off of her big engagement news, and now Jessica Biel has landed herself the cover of the April 2012 issue of W.

The 30-year-old actress donned a Louis Vuitton nylon swimsuit with David Yurman 18k gold and citrine bracelets for the front page shot while chatting about everything from her teen years to her girl-on-girl action in “Total Recall”.

On the first movie she remembers seeing:
“The Goonies. I never identified with girls, and the cast was all boys. Girls were nervous about going into caves; they were scaredy-cats—and I wasn’t into that at all. I loved the idea of being with a crew and having an adventure. I was really interested in pits full of snakes.”

On how she got her start in acting:
“When I was 11, I was in a competition sponsored by the International Modeling and Talent Association. You paid a certain amount of money and they taught you to walk a runway, present a comedic monologue, a dramatic monologue, a dance routine, and a song. My runway look was a one-piece bathing suit, a top hat, and a bow tie. The competition was in L.A., and afterward I got a manager and an agent. I tried out for a billion things, and after three years, I was cast on the show 7th Heaven.”

On if she was a rebel during her teen years:
“I cut my hair supershort and dyed it blonde. I had to apologize to Aaron Spelling [the producer] for doing that. He wasn’t happy. When I turned 17 or 18, a really obnoxious friend sent a stripper to the set. I had to apologize for that too. The show was all about family values, and they took that position seriously. I was always apologizing.”

On her girl-on-girl action in ‘Total Recall’:
“Fun—so fun! Our fight scene isn’t overtly sexy: just two trained fighters who happen to be women kicking the shit out of each other. It could be two dudes, but we just happened to have long hair and boobs and…other things [laughs].”
