David O. Russell, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert De Niro are reportedly getting in on the recent trend of re-murdering Kennedy with an adaptation of Legacy of Secrecy. Showbiz411 claims DiCaprio’s Appian Way production company is finally moving forward with its option on the possibly non-fiction book, hiring on David O. Russell to write and direct the film about how the President really died: from a mob hit, duh. De Niro is said to be returning to both Russell’s direction and his old mafioso schtick to play Carlos Marcello, the New Orleans kingpin who, before his death in 1993, supposedly said he was the one who put out the JFK kill order. Since then, his claim has been substantiated by evidence Kennedy was indeed shot.

The assassination has been a popular topic in the last couple years, with Tom Hanks and Jonathan Demme both already at work on their own projects on the subject. But seeing as Demme’s further involves a time traveler meeting Elvis and other past celebrities, and Tom Hanks’ involves Tom Hanks, Russell’s take is at least unique in that it in no way resembles Forrest Gump.

Giving the people what they want, Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko turned up at the Japanese premiere of “Oblivion” on Wednesday (May 8).

The “Vanilla Sky” stud and his lovely partner-in-crime hammed it up for the paparazzi along with director Joseph Kosinski outside the Roppongi Hills Theater in Tokyo.

And there’s been plenty of buzz surrounding the announcement earlier this week that Cruise has confirmed he’ll star in “Mission: Impossible 5.”

Tom will reprise his role as Ethan Hunt, and other than that there aren’t many preliminary details regarding the fifth installment of the uber-lucrative franchise.

Question by autumn92292: When will they be releasing the Twilight saga New Moon movie clips and tv spots?
on the New Moon movie website when you go under media and click videos it has the 3 trailers and on top it says “clips” and “tv spots” and when you click them it says “coming soon” i was just wondering if anybody had any idea of when or around what time would they be releasing any movie clips and/or tv spots??? would that not be til October and/or beginning or middle of November?

District 9‘s Neill Blomkamp returns to sci-fi, just as Matt Damon returns to selling films with the back of his head, in this August’s Elysium. Here’s the film’s first poster, depicting a future dystopia in which Damon has become Vin Diesel, and Vin Diesel has become a muscular digital camera. Or maybe it’s about something else. As part of their commitment to produce compelling non-fiction and continue forcing James Gandolfini to make his bones, HBO is planning some new, original films to look at the life of Nora Ephron and laugh at some paleontologists.

Deadline reports the network is currently looking for a writer for Bone Wars, a TV movie that already has Gandolfini and his Burt Wonderstone co-star Steve Carell attached to produce and star. They’d play Edward Drinker Cope of Philadelphia’s Academy of Natural Sciences and Othniel Charles Marsh of Yale’s Peabody Museum of Natural History, postbellum rival paleontologists whose competitive feud for dinosaur remnants “led to the discovery of more than 160 dinosaurs and their mutual downward spiral.” It’s described as a “sophisticated comedy,” so expect to hear some species identifiers for each fossil Gandolfini clunks against Carell’s head.

Meanwhile, THR brings news that HBO is also working on a documentary portrait of Nora Ephron, the recently-deceased writer-director whose work on films like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail were hugely influential to the fictional love life of Meg Ryan. Ephron’s son, journalist Jacob Bernstein, is co-directing with Nick Hooker in what’s expected to be an initially-contentious relationship that will eventually result in love.
