Finding himself in an unenviable situation, Hugh Hefner’s oldest son Marston Hefner was arrested on Sunday night (February 12) in Pasadena, CA.

According to TMZ, police authorities were called to Marston’s home in which he shares with girlfriend Claire Sinclair after receiving a 911 call from the Playmate of the Year’s family members.

When officers arrived on the scene, they observed bruises and red marks on Sinclair’s body and she claimed Hefner punched her, kicked her and refused to let her leave their home.

After a quick investigation, Marston was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence around 11:15 pm.

The thriller/horror flick about a young lawyer and a vengeful ghost in a remote village has edged out the competition by garnering an estimated $ 8.1 million on opening day while projected to take $ 19.8 during its first weekend of release.

Making for a tightly contested battle, another newcomer nabbed itself the runner-up position, as the Josh Trank directed drama/sci-fi motion picture “Chronicle” took home $ 8.0 million on Friday with a predicted debut weekend take of $ 19.7 million.

Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals are last week’s winner “The Grey” ($ 9.4 million) and the Drew Barrymore/John Krasinski starring whale tale “Big Miracle” ($ 8 million) in third and fourth while fifth place is a stalemate between Kate Beckinsale’s “Underworld: Awakening” and Katherine Heigl’s “One For the Money” ($ 4.9 million).

Once again pairing up for a project, Nicki Minaj joins David Guetta in the upcoming music video for their single “Turn Me On”.

The “Fly” hitmaker” and “On The Dancefloor” singer treated fans to a teaser clip on Friday (January 27), with the complete music video set to be released on Tuesday, January 31st.

Looking to be quite the entertaining production, Nicki and David’s video is set in a creepy dungeon with Minaj shown lugging an axe on the ground before later hopping on a horse and galloping off to freedom.

Meanwhile, Nicki will be joining Madonna in the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, as she was asked about her day’s doings on Twitter this afternoon, to which she replied, “Super Bowl rehearsals w/the Queen”

Getting down to business on his new gig, James Franco was spotted on the set of “Lovelace” in Los Angeles last night (January 26).

The “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” stud looked handsome as he got into character as a 1972 version of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner.

“Lovelace” is a biopic about 70s porn star Linda Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard.

Additionally, Demi Moore was recently replaced, due to personal issues, by Mary Louise Parker, who will now be playing Gloria Steinem.

Now that she’s steering clear of the club scene, Lindsay Lohan spent her Saturday evening (January 21) shopping it up at 14 Karats jewelry store in Los Angeles, California.

Clad in an all-black outfit sans bra with a brown leather jacket, the “Mean Girls” starlet spent the evening browsing the store’s offerings before emerging to find two parking tickets adorning her black Porsche sports car’s windshield.

The retail outing comes just days after reports emerged telling the LiLo is in the running to land the role of Elizabeth Taylor in a movie about the star’s life.

With Megan Fox’s name also having been mentioned, the film’s executive producer Larry Thompson told E! News, “I’ve been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox. It’s a very serious selection. It’s like casting for Hollywood royalty.”

Before being able to take the job, Miss Lohan still must finish off her probation requirements – as she has another progress hearing scheduled for February 15 with her final hearing slated to take place on March 29.

With the departure of Smallville leaving a hole in CW’s schedule just waiting to be filled by another collection of attractive young people who correspond to DC comics characters, the still-existant network is nearing a deal to order a pilot based on archery-based superhero Green Arrow. The character has already appeared on the CW numerous times, portrayed as a goatee-less Abercrombie model-type on Smallville, but this Green Arrow will reportedly be unrelated to that incarnation. In fact, this Green Arrow apparently won’t be like the comic book Green Arrow either, as this series “sets him in a new world with an original story that is not based on the comics.” Thusly, the title of the show isn’t even bothering to label the character with his full superhero moniker, instead going with the sleeker Arrow, trusting their smart audience to figure out what color he’s wearing for themselves.

Further discouraging any potential interest in this Green Arrow comic book series that is not based on the comics, the project is being written and executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, the writers who last year made the similarly-virescent Green Lantern into a movie, which is about the best thing you can say about that happening. Still, with this pilot in development and Hawkeye at last making his grand appearance in The Avengers, this is apparently the year to be the sort of fanboy who’s really into the superheroes whose only power is a longstanding insistence that guns are a passing fad.
