Question by Kat D: Trying to download Microsoft Silverlight but it says i need to be an administrator?
I’m trying to download it so i can use my netflix “watch tv/movies immediately” thing but it says i have to dl silverlight. I tried to dl it directly from netflix but it won’t let me! it says i must be authorized or something. what do i do? :[

    are you on a guest account? log off windows and get into an account that has administrative privileges and try again. it’s usually the first on the list.

    You have to have a administrator password get one from your parents or reinstall windows if you forgot it.

    If you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista, there is a hidden administrator account. The account you’re on can be a computer administrator, but is still not the main administrator. There are limited restrictions to not being the main administrator, but it is still needed for some things. And for those things, you can just use the option for “run as administrator”.

    I’m not sure if this is your problem of if you even have Windows 7or Vista but you may want to look into how to enable the main administrator account, and then try to download Silverlight from there.

    Then again, your problem could simply be you’re on your parent’s, school’s, or on a public computer and the account you are on has limited access. Ask someone about it if you can.
