Though the scars are still visible from Valentine’s Day, director Garry Marshall still continues to flog us with his romantic-comedy cat o’ nine tails, and soon enough we’ll be wincing to the lashes of another rom-com pile-on when New Year’s Eve comes out later this year. Love, Actually has already covered Christmas, though, and eventually Marshall is going to run out of romantic holidays to loosely wrap his rom-com scourges around, and so the time has come to find a new basis for showcasing a multitude of mostly-white Manhattan relationships. Thankfully, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden may have the solution: how about working around hate mail? The Fleck-Boden writing and directing team–who last collaborated on our most precious mental institution romance, It’s Kind of a Funny Story–have revealed that their next project will be a film called Hate Mail, which “will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.” At last, we’ll have an alternate universe version of the romantic-comedy pile-on, a world in which the ending isn’t entirely happy, Ryan Gosling is Ashton Kutcher, Parker Posey is established veteran Robert De Niro, and Katherine Heigl stands outside it all, quietly scratching at the glass and unsure why she feels such a desperate need to be in a mutually-antagonistic relationship.
Question by Meridius: Is Resident Evil: Afterlife being released in 2D as well as 3D?
Or are they just releasing it in 3D as I checked my local Cinema Listings, in the UK, and they only have showings for a 3D version.
They usually have both i.e. Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 3 in 3D.
Answer by Stang
That’s what I was wondering…
Just checked my neighborhood theater and the only have it in 2D!

Question by Zelman: Has filming of Avatar 2 commenced yet?
I just watched Avatar in 3D, and I find it hard to be back in the real world now. Man, what an experience. I guess a sequel is what the doctor ordered, and I’ve heard rumors one might be on its way. By when though? Does anyone know?

Who knows. Probably not.. too early to decide.

Apparently when Kim Kardashian turned 14, her father took time off from helping O.J. get away with murder to spring for a professional makeup artist so his daughters wouldn’t look like circus clowns. Fortunately for him, they’ve evolved into looking like self-proclaimed trannies, so in the end, it was money well-spent. Via E! News: “He Read More …
Watching Agent Cody Banks, it’s hard not to think to yourself, “While a high school age Frankie Muniz being enlisted as a covert government operative is certainly a rock solid basis for entertainment, why isn’t my visage plastered somewhere as a superficial presence distracting me from an otherwise convincing premise?” Unfortunately, in 2003–and even in 2004, when Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London graced theaters–that sort of technology just wasn’t possible, leaving our faces sadly absent from the realm of teen spy hijinks. UNTIL NOW, that is. Thanks to Charlie’s Angel director McG, now we’re going to get not just our photos but our Facebook profiles and other relevant captions in a brand new, though Muniz-less, tale of high school age espionage.
Described as a “social series,” but more accurately described as a “web series that will make your online personal information even less private,” the McG-produced Aim High stars Twilight vampire Jackson Rathbone as a high school junior who spends his nights working as “a highly trained teenage government operative.” The “social” part is that you, as someone who would like to make their mark in Aim High, can agree to give Warner Bros. the express permission to use your name, likeness, and written text as they please. For example, there might be a sign in the Aim High school hallway advertising someone for class president, and they could use your name and likeness, then you would be able to tell your friends, “Hey, guys, look, I’m in Aim High. It’s a show. No, it’s only on the internet.” Or maybe there would be an Aim High town rapist, and you would be the name and face Jackson Rathbone is referring to when he says, “Someone needs to stop this rapist.” The sky’s the limit, really. Aim high.
